Taking part in the Israeli public diplomacy effort overseas
Adv. Eytan Epstein, in collaboration with Adv. Amit Bachar, Chairman of the Israeli Bar Association, the Israeli Embassy in France, and the Kidnapped Soldiers’ Headquarters, undertook a crucial outreach campaign in Paris. The objective was clear: to garner international support for the release of Israeli captives in Gaza and establish global legitimacy for Israel’s actions.
Our team actively engaged with key international organizations, including the IBA’s War Crimes Committee, the French Bar Association, and the influential MULTILAW organization. These efforts also involved meaningful dialogues with prominent figures in the realm of international law.
Attorney Eitan Epstein, serving as the representative for the Israeli Bar Association in the IBA, addressed leaders and representatives from approximately 180 bar associations worldwide. Emphasizing Israel’s commitment to operating within the bounds of international law, Epstein highlighted the focused efforts on combating Hamas rather than the broader Palestinian population, which suffers from the abuses of Hamas. He urged organizations and representatives to take urgent action for the release of all hostages.
In addition to these diplomatic efforts, Epstein and Bachar, along with Israel’s Bar Association’s delegation, actively participated in various events. These included a comprehensive press conference amplifying the voices of the kidnapped and their families, a conference supporting Israel held at the Grand Synagogue in Paris, and specialized discussions on war crimes. The team also held meetings with influential individuals and heads of organizations, such as the president of the Paris Bar Association, members of the Paris city council, the former Prime Minister of Denmark, and the legal advisor for human rights at the Red Cross, to name a few.
