Eytan Epstein is a partner in the firm and heading the International practice.
With his expertise gleaned from three decades of experience in business, commercial, antitrust, and competition law, Mr. Epstein is one of the founders and shapers of this practice area in Israel and around the world, sitting on international committees, penning many publications and articles, and lecturing on the subject both globally and in Israel.
Mr. Epstein has rich practical experience in conducting negotiations in a variety of transactions in Israel and around the world, as well as with the Antitrust Authority, the Competition Tribunal, and the courts, and all this in addition to his extensive practice providing regular counsel to business clientele in the fields of banking and credit cards, air travel, communications, insurance, industry, high-tech, pharmaceuticals, retail, etc.
Mr. Epstein is listed among the 100 leading attorneys in the world in antitrust law published each year by the Global Competition Review and has received praise from numerous other ranking guides.
After being admitted to the bar in Israel in 1985, Mr. Epstein worked in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition in Brussels. In 1989, Mr. Epstein established his own law firm, which merged with Firon Law Firm at the end of 2015.
Mr. Epstein served as a member of the Government Committee to Prepare Israel for the European Union (1992). He was a member of the Manufacturers Association of Israel’s Foreign Trade Committee, is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accounts in Israel’s Foreign Trade Committee and is a member of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (ABA), has previously served as chair of the International Trade Committee, and is currently a member of the Bar Issues Commission’s team.
In 2016, he was appointed as a director in the CEELI Institute, an international institute that was established by the American Bar Association in collaboration with representatives of Central and Eastern European bar associations that works to advance the rule of law around the world and train judges and attorneys from Eastern Europe and around the world.
Previously, Mr. Epstein served as lecturer and adjunct instructor on tax law on the Tel Aviv University’s Law Faculty as well as a lecturer on European competition law and international trade law at the Tel Aviv College of Management.
Mr. Epstein has published articles on antitrust law as well as on the legal environment of Israel’s international trade.
In 2015, a book that he co-authored with Tamar Dolev Green, entitled, “Competition Law in Israel,” was published by Wolters Kluwer.
Mr. Epstein also wrote the Israel – related chapters in the following journals:
Warranties and Disclaimers – Kluwer Law and IBA (2002);
Mergers & Acquisitions (Law Business Research) (2003);
The Oceana Digest of Commercial Law of the World – Kluwer Law (2000);
In The Private Competition Enforcement Review (Law Business Research) (2008).
