Jacob Enoch is Head of the firm’s M&A and international transactions department, head of the firm’s international arbitration practice, and chairman of the firm’s marketing forum.
A vastly experienced attorney with multidisciplinary education and experience, Jacob takes pride in his capacity to examine a legal and business matter in all thoroughness, often becoming an essential part of his clients’ strategic thought process by virtue of this trait.
With over two decades of rich experience at the forefront of Israel’s mergers and acquisitions arena, Jacob has managed some of the most significant M&A transactions in the Israeli market, as well as numerous cross-border transactions, valued at billions of dollars. He is extremely accomplished at planning and executing intricate mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring and investment transactions as well as in handling complex corporate finance issues.
Jacob has an extraordinary expertise in advising on M&A transactions of an international nature. His clients include foreign enterprises in their Israeli dealings, as well as Israeli companies in their international transactions. Jacob’s experience includes managing transactions in North, South and Central America, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and Africa.
Furthermore, Jacob is a seasoned, top-rated litigator, routinely handling high profile cases, often with an international flavor. He represents the country’s largest and most prominent enterprises and is immensely skilled at appearing before all instances of the Israeli courts, including the Supreme Court, as well as in managing arbitrations and mediations. Additionally, Jacob is considered one of only a few world class international arbitration experts in Israel. He has uncommon experience in representing leading clients in various international arbitration proceedings, including arbitration under the auspices and rules of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and more. Moreover, he serves as an arbitrator and a mediator, both locally and internationally including in ICC arbitrations and in SIAC where he is a member of the arbitrators panel.
On top of his noteworthy proficiency in the legal sphere, Jacob has an in-depth business understanding, emanating from his uncommonly diverse commercial experience and education, which grant him technological, financial and accounting expertise. Formerly, he had worked as an investment banker at Salomon Smith Barney (Citibank) on Wall Street and as a EVP of an international software company in the healthcare sector. In the framework of his legal practice, Jacob leverages this rich, accumulated experience and the expertise he had acquired in finance and accounting throughout his MBA studies (Magna Cum Laude).
Jacob is highly acclaimed by international and Israeli legal directories (including Chambers & Partner, The Legal 500, IFLR1000, WWL, BDI, D&B) who for many years have been regularly recognizing him as one of Israel’s top M&A and litigation attorneys. ”The Best” magazine of the “Ma’ariv” daily newspaper has also named him as one of Israel’s most prominent M&A attorneys. Additionally, Jacob is and has been for years, the only Israeli attorney ranked as a Legal 500 Leading Individual in both M&A and International Arbitration.
Routinely speaks on different topics and serves on panels in different conferences and conventions in Israel and abroad. Jacob served as an adjunct lecturer at the Buchman Faculty of Law at the Tel Aviv University, where he taught a simulated transaction course, allowing students to actively experience legal handling of a transaction. Jacob also served as one of the lecturers in the Israel Bar Association’s arbitrator’s course.
Jacob is Israel’s most senior member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and served on many of its task forces.
