Mazor Matzkevich heads the firm’s Competition Law Dept.
Ms. Matzkevich’s clients benefit from her rich experience and proven record in competition and antitrust counsel and litigation for leading Israeli and international companies in connection with complex transactions, commercial agreements, and merger approval proceedings. Ms. Matzkevich is highly regarded as an expert litigator in the field of antitrust law, successfully serving her clients in administrative and criminal proceedings before the Israel Competition Authority in civil and class action lawsuits.
Similarly, Ms. Matzkevich offers her international clients regulatory counsel on debit cards and advanced payment methods in light of rapidly developing regulations and the complexity of licensing requirements in this area of the economy.
For over a decade, Ms. Matzkevich has been listed as a prominent, outstanding attorney in her field in various international ranking guides, winning praise, in 2016, by the Global Competition Review (GCR) as one of the top 100 attorneys in her field in the world.
Ms. Matzkevich began her antitrust career in 1998 with the Israel Competition Authority, advancing to the position of Head of the Authority’s Criminal Section in 2001. In that role, Ms. Matzkevich supervised the Authority’s prosecutorial team and personally led the Authority’s principal cases to victory at the district courts as well as the Supreme Court. While at the Authority, she was also responsible for its activity in the water and environment sectors.
Between 2003 and 2009, Ms. Matzkevich worked as a staff attorney in the US Federal Trade Commission, the federal authority charged with regulating competition and consumer protection in the US. As part of her service, Ms. Matzkevich took part in a number of the Commission’s flagship cases (such as Intel and NTSP) as well as litigation and merger cases arising in a variety of industries, among them high-tech, retail, pharmaceuticals, agrochemistry, hospitals, and food.
After returning to Israel, Ms. Matzkevich joined as partner and managing partner of the antitrust practice at the law firm of Epstein Chomsky, Osnat and Co., in 2010, until its merger with Firon Law Firm.
