Tami Firon–Smorodinsky is a managing partner at Firon Law Firm.
Until the end of the year of 2023 was the head of the real estate, infrastructure, and project finance departments.
Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky is one of Israel’s best known and acclaimed attorneys in the fields of infrastructures and projects, energy, and project finance and is a pioneer in the field of public-private partnerships (PPP). Over the years, Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky has accumulated unparalleled experience in advising on energy projects as well as complex infrastructure projects that include private-public partnerships, among them BOT and PFI type projects; financing deals – particularly in the transportation sector, such as light rails; port and highway construction; energy projects; desalination; public building construction; and more. She also represents some of the leading companies in the field in Israel and around the world.
Her practice encompasses a project’s entire lifecycle, from submitting a bid to a public tender or preparing the tender for the project initiator, to project financing (“financial closings”), and all the way through its execution in the field and the project’s implementation and operation. Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky is particularly expert at the financing aspects of PPP projects and in recent years, has represented her clients in complex finance deals with banks and other financial institutions. She has represented various financial entities as well.
Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky also specializes in all aspects of real estate and contractor law and represents some of the leading construction, contractor, and real estate companies in Israel, including in the field of financing. In recent years, Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky has counseled on extensive residential and commercial real estate projects and has handled the real estate, land, and contractor aspects of many public projects. Her clientele includes both foreign as well as Israeli publicly traded companies to which she provides legal and business counsel regarding their real estate and construction projects whether in Israel or abroad. Among the projects handled by Ms. Firon-Smorodinsky in recent years: The Tel Aviv Light Rail’s red line; tenders for the Tel Aviv Light Rail’s green and purple lines (PPP); the Jerusalem Light Rail blue line (PPP); a tender for the Haifa-Nazareth Light Rail Project (PPP); construction of power stations by the Nativ Haor company; energy storage initiatives; solar energy projects; wind powered energy projects; development and construction of “Data Center” complexes; Ministry of Defense tenders for the construction, operation, and maintenance of military bases; toll-road and tunnel projects; construction of public buildings in public-private partnership projects between the public and private sectors; representation of the governmental Apartment for Rent Corporation in BOO projects in the field of rental units; public housing finance projects; energy project finance; BOT projects for the construction of student dormitories; desalination plant construction tenders; and more.
